What is the mission:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Insurance Manager based in Lisbon to oversee all aspects of the companys insurance needs. This role is pivotal in ensuring that the organization is adequately covered across all potential risks, including property, liability, employee benefits, and other business-specific insurance requirements. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience managing a wide range of insurance policies, negotiating terms with providers, and ensuring compliance with all regulatory standards.
What will be your responsibilities:
- Oversee and Coordinate Insurance Policies: Manage and ensure uniform, comprehensive insurance coverage across multiple countries, tailored to the unique risks and requirements of each region.
- Market and Regulatory Knowledge: Stay current with the evolving insurance markets and regulatory frameworks in the UK, Portugal, France, and other EU countries to ensure compliance and strategic alignment.
- Negotiate Terms with Insurers: Lead negotiations with international insurance providers and brokers to secure the best possible terms, premiums, and coverage for the organization.
- Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong, lasting relationships with both local and global insurance providers, brokers, and other key partners to foster collaboration and maximize value.
- Conduct Risk Assessments: Perform in-depth risk assessments specific to each country, analyzing potential gaps in coverage and recommending improvements to enhance protection.
- Align Global and Local Strategies: Align global insurance strategies with local regulatory and compliance requirements, while addressing the diverse needs of the organization across regions.
- Compliance and Regulatory Monitoring: Ensure all insurance policies comply with local laws and regulations in each operating country, staying informed on any regulatory changes and adapting policies as needed.
- Claims Management: Oversee the claims process, ensuring efficient and timely resolutions while minimizing financial impact and maintaining positive relationships with insurers.
- Insurance Strategy Development: Develop and implement a comprehensive, forward-thinking insurance strategy that ensures protection against identified risks and supports business operations across all territories.
- Insurance Portfolio Evaluation: Regularly evaluate the effectiveness of current policies, identify coverage gaps, and recommend improvements to optimize the insurance portfolio.
- Report Preparation: Prepare detailed, insightful reports on insurance performance, claims history, and financial impact for senior management to inform strategic decision-making.
- Cross-Departmental Collaboration: Work closely with HR, Legal, Finance, and Operations teams to align insurance solutions with organizational needs, fostering a unified approach to risk management.
- Monitor Market Trends: Continuously analyze market trends and competitor strategies to identify opportunities for innovative insurance solutions and secure the best possible deals for the organization.
What are we looking for:
- Experience: A minimum of 7 years in insurance management, with extensive experience in managing a diverse range of corporate insurance policies, including expertise in multi-country operations, particularly in the UK, Portugal, France, and other EU markets.
- Knowledge: A deep understanding of global and regional insurance markets, risk management strategies, and industry regulations, with the ability to stay ahead of trends and challenges.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical abilities to assess complex risks and develop tailored, cost-effective insurance solutions that meet both organizational needs and regulatory requirements.
- Negotiation Skills: A proven track record in negotiating favorable terms with insurance providers, brokers, and other key partners, ensuring value for the organization.
- Leadership: Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage cross-functional teams and build relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support the company's objectives.
- Language Skills: Fluency inย Englishย andย Portugueseย is mandatory.
- Education: A Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Risk Management, Insurance, or a related field.
- Adaptability: Ability to adapt to dynamic market conditions and regulatory changes, ensuring insurance strategies remain aligned with the company's evolving needs.
