The Business Development Manager (Northern Europe) is a key role within the newly established Business Development Team of TEKEVER Defence. TEKEVER Defence develops cutting-edge capabilities for the Defence market and is organized into six core departments: Engineering, Capability, Futures, Operations, Delivery, and Business Development & Strategy.
This position focuses on driving market expansion in Northern Europe by analyzing market trends, engaging with customers, and leading the sales strategy for TEKEVER’s innovative platforms. As part of the team, you’ll help turn market insights into business opportunities while collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure TEKEVER’s growth in the region.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Market Strategy Leadership: Define and execute the market entry strategy for TEKEVER platforms in Northern Europe, focusing on market analysis, customer engagement, and sales strategy.
- Customer Relationship Development: Build strong, trusted relationships with key defense stakeholders in Northern Europe to identify and develop opportunities.
- Sales Pipeline Management: Oversee and manage the sales pipeline to convert market insights into actionable business opportunities.
- Business Solution Development: Collaborate with the wider team to develop business solutions that meet the evolving requirements of defense customers.
- Collaborative Approach: Work closely with the engineering, operations, and wider TEKEVER teams to ensure alignment in delivering market strategies and capabilities.
- Tender Management: Lead the development and submission of tender responses in the region, ensuring successful outcomes.
- Industry Engagement: Attend relevant conferences, exhibitions, and events to support business development and identify new opportunities for collaboration.
Essential Competencies:
- Educational Background: An undergraduate degree in a STEM subject (post-graduate education preferred).
- Business Development Expertise: Proven experience in business development within the defense sector, particularly in the Northern European market, with a deep understanding of regional procurement processes.
- Strong Network: Established professional network within the defense industry and target markets.
- Strategic Thinker: Ability to develop and execute business plans, translating insights into actionable strategies.
- Clear Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills to influence key stakeholders.
- Team Player: Ability to collaborate effectively within multi-disciplinary teams to achieve business objectives.
- Military & ISR Experience: Exposure to operational-level ISR (Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance) is beneficial.
- Product Development Insight: Experience contributing to product development and familiarity with Agile methodologies.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Understanding of export rules, regulations, and compliance.
- UAS and Airspace Knowledge: Familiarity with unmanned aircraft systems (UAS), sensors, and systems in the airspace industry is advantageous.
